Jennifer haynes (Principal)
Mrs. Haynes acquired a Bachelor’s degree in public relations and graphic design from Angelo State University. Realizing she would never have peace in her career until she listened and followed God’s will for her, she returned to school. She then received her second Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from LeTourneau University. As well as a Master of Education with emphasis in Christian Principal-ship. She taught seven years in a Christian school and five years in public education. She has four children, Jori, Jaxton, Judson and Janey. Her husband, Jeremy, is the Process Development and Implementation Specialist at Diamond WTG.
Like the song says, the children really are our future. It’s important for us to bring them up in the “nurture and admonition of the Lord”. (Ephesians 6:4)
Temi Scott (Pre-Kindergarten)
Temi was born and raised in Snyder. She attended Hardin-Simmons University and graduated with a
Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Temi is married to Jake Scott and they have twins, Paul and Perry Scott.
She taught 1 st Grade in Abilene, Texas at St. John’s Episcopal School for four years. Jake and Temi moved
back to Snyder in 2014 and have enjoyed being closer to family. After staying home with her twins for a
few years, she decided to start teaching again when her own children were old enough to start school.
After hearing the wonderful things SCS had to offer their students and families the decision to go back
was easy. “We could not pass up the opportunity to be a part of a Christian school that teaches Christian
curriculum as well as pours scripture and God’s love into their students.” says Temi. She began teaching
at Snyder Christian School in 2017 as the Pre-K teacher.
Ashleigh arellano (Kindergarten)
Ashleigh Arellano is a Kindergarten teacher at SCS! She recently got married in September of 2018 so her last name has updated from Jenkins to Arellano! Ashleigh graduated from Texas Tech with her Bachelor of Arts and she graduated from Western Texas College with her Associate of Arts. Wreck Em! Ashleigh says, “SCS is such a great place to work, mainly because God is our priority and we are able to link everything back to The Bible. While education is very important we wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for our Lord!” She looks forward to growing and learning more so that she can teach her students with joy and surround them with God’s love. Ashleigh has a big heart for kids and a passion for teaching them!
kate murdock (1st and 2nd grades)
Kate Murdock was born and raised in Scurry County and graduated from Ira ISD in 2007. She started her college education at South Plains College and eventually transferred to Angelo State University. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Education in 2010 and earned her EC-6th Generalist Certification. The last 7 years she has taught in Public Education ranging from Pk-3RD Grade and felt last year the Lord was working in her for a change to Snyder Christian School. Her little family is her whole world. She was married to her husband, Dustin, in June of 2012. They since then had two children, Adalynn and Camden.
She has personally felt such a calling to be a part of an education system that values a parent-teacher partnership that puts God first in all aspects. This school has been a true answer to their prayers and their family is so blessed to be a part of SCS.
Gale Rodgers (3rd and 4th grades)
Mrs. Rodgers grew up on the banks of Bull Creek at Knapp in Scurry County. She attended Ira ISD for all twelve years of her early education. She attended Western Texas College and Texas Tech, having graduated from both. Ira ISD became her school home once again, this time for 26 years as a classroom teacher. Whether a student or teacher, she was very involved in many UIL activities and sports. After retiring, she became the Educator for Scurry County Museum.
Gale is affiliated with the Snyder Lions' Club, Delta Kappa Gamma, and Scurry County Retired Teachers. She attends church at First Presbyterian Church.
Two of her proudest accomplishments are of being mom to Lindsey and Jennifer and GiGi to Tyler, Kensey, Kaitlee, and Evan. They fill her heart with joy and pride. She has one brother, Art White, two nephews, Blake and Wes, and one niece Danielle. Their children are who made Gale great! Brayden, Zack, Jaxon, Jentry, Jossy and Mak are her great nephews and nieces.
Eclectic would best describe her interests. Texas Tech sports, Ira Bulldog sports, several professional team sports, music of all genres (don't ask her about her favorite group!), theater, concerts, movies, history, collections of her favorite things, friends and family.
Beverly James (5th and 6th Grades)
Mrs. James graduated from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin with a Bachelor’s degree in Literature and received a lifetime teaching certification. She recently retired from the public school system after 29 years of teaching grades first through fifth.
Her family is very important to her. She and her husband, Lucky, are very involved in the lives of their two children, Jennifer and Zach, as well as their two grandchildren.
“I have been so blessed to have had the opportunity to be a part of so many young people’s lives and education. I am looking forward to this next chapter at Snyder Christian School.”
Cassie Cochran (7th and 8th Grades)
Miss Cochran is a local graduate of Snyder High School. She went to Western Texas College for two years, acquiring an Associate of Arts Degree, before being accepted to Texas Tech University. There, she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Interdisciplinary Agriculture and a Master of Science Degree in Agricultural Education.
In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, baking, and participating in shows at the Ritz Community Theatre.
